After 23 years, the St. Croix Garden Tour has ended.
The decision to end the St. Croix Garden Tour was made after much discussion. In recent years it's become more difficult to find a healthy number of gardens available on the same weekend each year coupled with competing events in the St. Croix Valley. In addition, there are many more garden tours in the Twin Cities each summer than there were when FamilyMeans' event began more than two decades ago.
The St. Croix Garden Tour over the years featured more than 200 residential gardens throughout Stillwater and the surrounding areas. The event engaged more than 500 volunteers, including many repeat volunteers. The garden tour was more than just a fundraiser for FamilyMeans, it helped create community as generous garden owners welcomed hundreds of guests into their yards to share their creativity and love of gardening each year.
The proceeds raised from each garden tour were used to support FamilyMeans and its programs and services that benefit the more than 18,000 people who seek help from the agency each year for counseling and therapy; financial and debt management services; caregiver support and education; or youth enrichment in the communities of Landfall and Cimarron.
Whether you volunteered in one or more capacities for the St. Croix Garden Tour, or you simply enjoyed visiting the many beautiful gardens over years, we hope you enjoyed the experience and were able to learn new skills and be inspired by ideas for your own gardens and homes!
Thank you for your support of the St. Croix Garden Tour over the past 23 years!
