We are proud to present the results of the 2022-2025 Program Endowment Campaign in Memory of Arba-Della Beck

In 2022, FamilyMeans launched a four‑year campaign to strengthen the long‑term stability of our programs by growing the FamilyMeans Program Endowment Fund. This effort was inspired by the legacy of Arba-Della Beck, former FamilyMeans President whose 24 years of leadership helped build the strong foundation our agency stands on today. Her vision was simple and powerful: a significant endowment fund will help FamilyMeans provide reliable support for generations to come. 

A Community Effort with Extraordinary Results 

Thanks to the generosity of more than 240 households, as well as the leadership of our Board of Directors, the campaign surpassed its goal of raising $750,000. Today, we are proud to share the remarkable milestone that reflects the strength, generosity, and dedication of our community; the FamilyMeans Program Endowment Fund has reached $2.1 million in total holdings. 

This accomplishment represents far more than financial growth; it is an investment in the future of every individual and family we serve. The board reinforced this commitment with a $31,000 board designated contribution in the final year of the campaign, reflecting a shared belief in long-term stability and community care.

Why This Matters 

A strong endowment ensures FamilyMeans can:

• Keep services accessible, regardless of income level or insurance status
• Respond quickly to emerging needs in the community
• Sustain essential programming even when funding landscapes shift

Starting in 2026, the endowment will provide an estimated $90,000 annually in flexible, unrestricted support across our core service areas, Caregiving & Aging, Counseling & Therapy, Financial Solutions, and Youth Development. This type of support ensures we can remain steady and responsive for those who rely on us most.

This campaign also created a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with those who knew and admired Arba-Della, as well as to build new relationships with people who did not. Many contributors may not have personally known her: some gave in memory of their own loved ones, while others simply wished to honor and uphold the legacy she left behind. Together, this generosity reflects both individual tributes and a shared belief in the lasting impact of Arba-Della’s life and work.
