Mindfulness Phone Apps to Support Mental Health during Social Distancing
Mar 18, 2020
Great for Adults or Kids!
We live in a very social culture. It is likely that your average day consists of many interactions with many different people. From simply going to the grocery store, to enjoying a movie at a theatre, or having a meal at a nice restaurant. You may not have realized it, but each day you are surrounded by and coming in contact with hundreds of people. Over the last few weeks, the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the lives and routines of Americans. We are told to practice social distancing, including working from home and avoiding crowds. Restaurants, gyms, movie theatres, bars, and other “non-essential” businesses are closed.
These changes likely are causing stress, anxiety, and general unsettling feelings. To make things worse you may have trouble seeing a counselor, or even talking with a friend to help ease these feelings. One great way to support your mental health during this time is to download one of the many mindfulness phone applications. These applications can help to reduce anxiety and stress, and help you and your family to practice mindfulness.
