“We are evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of using VR to improve caregivers' understanding and empathy for people with dementia. At this point, we are still gathering our data. It seems that caregivers really like VR dementia training and provide a lot of positive feedback about the training.
We will provide more findings once we have completed our data gathering and analyzing process (Spring 2020). Please come and participate in VR dementia training program! I would love to hear what you think!”- Mingyang Zheng
Mingyang is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota pursuing a PhD in Social Work. He has been working with FamilyMeans Caregiving & Aging on assessing the effectiveness of using virtual reality equipment in educating people about dementia.
