Get Ready For the 7th Annual FamilyMeans Power of the Purse

Power of the Purse

FamilyMeans’ 7th annual Power of the Purse takes place on Saturday, Feb. 28 with Kat Perkins headlining as the keynote speaker. Kat entered our homes through NBC’s “The Voice” as one of the show’s contestants, in which she became a finalist, and since her time on the show she continues to perform and speak throughout the country. In fact, in addition to hearing Kat sing one of her songs, she’ll talk to the Power of the Purse crowd about being fearless.

Originally from North Dakota, Kat currently lives in the Twin Cities where she also nannies for a local family.

In its seventh year, the Power of the Purse has brought a host of speakers to share their stories of hope, perseverance, struggle and success. The speakers have included Kevyn Burger, TV and radio personality; Ann Bancroft, educator and explorer; PJ Tracy, mother/daughter writing team of mystery thrillers; Rachel Swardson, business owner and entrepreneur; Colleen Lindstrom, radio personality on FM 107; and Karyn Bye Dietz, former two-time Olympic hockey player for team USA.

The event starts with a silent auction with an array of fashionable purses, handbags, totes and wallets followed by a delicious sit-down brunch before the speaker begins.

FamilyMeans’ Power of the Purse has sold out each of its previous six years, and this year promises to be a rocking good time. You can find out more details at www.familymeans.org or on the FamilyMeans’ Power of the Purse Facebook page.
