This past Saturday, October 12, 2013, saw the 6th Annual Memorial Walk for Hope & Healing, an event benefitting FamilyMeans program at the Center for Grief, Loss & Transition. It was the sixth year of the event, which gathers people from all walks of life together to remember loved ones who they have lost.
The Memorial Walk is held each year at Como Park in St. Paul, with the walk occuring around Como Lake. Gatherers are welcomed at the beginning of the walk, encouraged to enjoy the walk around the lake in memory of loved ones, and the event finalizes with a ceremony of reflection, where names of each person participants are remembering are read aloud and honored by those in attendance.
This year's event was a cooler event, but again had great attendance. We thank everyone who came to honor loved ones and support those remembering. To learn more about the Center for Grief, Loss & Transition services, visit their web page.
