Power of the Purse, A Tasteful Summer's Evening, Volunteer, 50 Stories for 50 Years

Members of the Next Generation Leadership Council put their hearts, skills and knowledge into many of FamilyMeans’ more public events. Members of Next Gen were instrumental in creating the Power of the Purse event, which held its fifth annual event this past February; the committee is already gearing up for the 2014 event.

Next Gen members also coordinate the annual A Tasteful Summer’s Evening where they invite people from the community together for a fun evening of socialization and wine tasting all while educating the attendees about FamilyMeans and its programs and services. Held in a relaxed setting, the event serves as a casual way to introduce new people to the agency and get them involved in the agency’s events and volunteer opportunities.

On an individual basis, members of Next Gen have volunteered with the Caregiver Support program and with many youth activities at Landfall and Cimarron.

Created in 2005, Next Gen is comprised of emerging leaders in their 20s, 30s and 40s who are likely to serve as tomorrow’s non-profit board leaders in the community. The Next Gen members meet monthly and provide a voice to communicate their generation’s needs as well as help develop the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism among their peers.

Thank you to all of our current and past Next Gen members – your contributions are invaluable. If you're intrested in volunteering with FamilyMeans as well, contact us today to learn how you can get involved and help build stronger communities.
