FREE Session on Behaviors & Interventions with Focus on Dementia with FamilyMeans & Stillwater Medical

FamilyMeans and Stillwater Medical Group will host the session “behaviors and interventions"
for people caring for someone with memory loss on Wednesday, March 6, at FamilyMeans.
When: First Wednesday of every month from 1 to 3 p.m.
Where: FamilyMeans, 1875 Northwestern Avenue South, Stillwater, MN 55082

Care for the person with memory loss may be available; ask for details when registering.
The monthly caregiver support and education sessions provide caregivers a place to
connect with others in similar situations as well as have the opportunity to
talk with medical experts and caregiver support professionals. Stanley Smith,
M.D., a geriatrician with Stillwater Medical Group along with Lisa Schiemann
and Carol Davis, caregiver coaches and counselors with FamilyMeans, serve as
the facilitators.
The group will explore issues including:
• Managing difficult behaviors
• Maintaining personal balance
• Planning for legal needs
• Coping with depression
• Developing support systems
• Accessing community resources
• Understanding and dealing with the realities of memory loss
