FamilyMeans’ Day Out! program is currently welcoming new participants to take part in the weekly group respite program.
Held every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FamilyMeans in Stillwater, Day Out! supports families caring for adults with chronic health issues by providing a safe, supervised environment where care receivers come together to enjoy conversation, crafts, games, songs, exercises and fun while their caregivers take an often much-needed break.
Volunteers are paired with care receivers ensuring individualized attention and the opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy activities together on a regular basis.
Baseball, guitars, healthy snacks, Costa Rica and Earth Day are just some of the many themes that will soon be explored in Day Out!
The cost to participate in Day Out! is $40 per person per visit. Scholarships are available.
Day Out! is part of the Caregiver Support program at FamilyMeans, which has been providing in-home respite care, support groups, coaching and counseling and education programs for more than 25 years. Participants in Day Out! are not required to reside in Washington County.
