FamilyMeans provides Day Out! program open house for caregivers and care receivers interested in respite care
Structured activities offered in a safe, supervised location
STILLWATER, Minn., April 17, 2012 – FamilyMeans is hosting an open house on April 27 to promote Day Out!, a respite program designed for families caring for adults with chronic health issues.
The program, which began in July 2011, is a four-hour block of time where care receivers participate in structured activities such as crafts, games, songs and exercises in a safe, supervised environment at FamilyMeans in Stillwater allowing the family members and caregivers an often much-needed break.
Volunteers are paired with care receivers, allowing for individualized attention and the opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy activities together.
Attendees at the open house will be seeing Day Out! in action as it is held every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants in Day Out! are not required to reside in Washington County.

Day Out! is part of the Caregiver Support program at FamilyMeans, which has been providing in-home respite care, support groups, coaching and counseling, and education programs for more than 25 years.
